Established in 2008 as a fund of The Dunkirk Foundation by the West Jay Community Center.  The fund is named for the Gaunts, who owned the W.E. Gaunt Jewelry Store and the Ingénue Beauty Salon in Dunkirk.  The fund is to provide support for the West Jay Community Center.  The fund was transferred to The Portland Foundation in 2023 when The Dunkirk Foundation merged with The Portland Foundation.
